Time for a Break
by Joshua Aronson
After a close game -- but still a defeat -- to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, 99-92, Ricky and the Miami Heat are ready to take a few days off, courtesy of the All-Star break.
No. 31 turned in just under 27 minutes, finishing with seven points on 3-of-7 shooting.
MUCH NEEDED REST
Ricky had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for the past week, so the All-Star break couldn't have come early enough.
Despite missing practice this past Monday, No. 31 came off the bench against Denver on Tuesday night, racking up 10 points and adding four dimes in 32 minutes.
Get Buckets hit some key baskets in the contest to keep it close, including a key trey in overtime. As the Miami Herald wrote:
"The Nuggets made four of their first five shots in overtime, and Anthony Carter and Carmelo Anthony each hit a pair of free throws to put Denver ahead 114-110 with 54 seconds left in the extra period. Ricky Davis answered with a three-pointer with 33 seconds left."
Still, the Heat fell short, losing 114-113.
NEXT UP
Miami (9-42) returns to the court on the road next Thursday, facing off against Houston (32-20) on TNT.
